I am planning on getting married in October, and we have a friend who is stationed in Texas. He was in Korea for a year. My fiance really wants him to come but he says they won’t guarantee him the time off. I read on the army site that a soldier gets 30 days vacation a year. So why won’t he be able to come? My fiance is talking about putting our wedding off up to a year or whenever our friend gets out, since our friend says he can’t get time off. I have a feeling he’s just not trying too hard to come?
We were talking about maybe four days max around the weekend. He’s a welder.

The reason is that it is the only country that we’ve had war with without us having to leave troops. For example: We still have troops in Japan, Korea, Germany, Bosnia, Nicaragua, etc. Further, Vietnam never gave us any bunk after the war. In fact it is one of the best places to vacation in Asia and they want our presence there.
